This strange thing happan on some of ours site, every
server is on ups, all goes fine and BAM a server shutdown,
or it freeze...and we absolutly need to reboot it...I
don't thing that it's the ups cause its not always the
same server, the only trace in the event viewer is error
6008 unexpected shutdown....all server are on sp4...
thanks a lot!

If no BSOD's occur (Event ID: 1001 Source: Save Dump), then it may be a
power problem. I would look at a possible faulty (or undersized) pc power
supply, UPS, bad battery, or the circuit feeding the outlet that the pc is
plugged into.

There is no event id 1001 form the source save dump, I
don't think its a bleu screen but I'm not sure...its a
server pluged on a swtch box...when the server crash, all
the light of the server are fine...but there's no activity
and the only thing that I can do is reboot the server.

For the power, do the facts that the serial port was
connected with the ups without having installed any
softwares could result Freezing or rebooting a server?

Thanks a lot!

I wouldn't think so. This does sound like a power problem of some sort
though.

If it was a power problem...then while only on server
freeze...maybe I forgot to tell you that 4 servers are on
the same Ups, so if it was a power problem, they would
have all freeze...or maybe your right and the power
supplies of the servers start have some dificulties.

That would be my guess.
