Unexpected Shutdown in XP

My computer has no powersave options telling it to shut down or restart, yet
when i leave it alone for a while, it shuts down automatically. When I
restart, its as if I had shut it down myself manually, because it doesnt show
the windows is loading page as if it were restarting from hibernation. What
could possibly be causing this and how can i Fix it? My dell inspiron 1100
(celeron 2.0 GHz windows XP) laptop is plugged in the wall all the time and
the the only powersave option i am using is turning the monitor off after 15
minutes. No screen save either. It only started doing this randomly since I
got XP SP2.

Hi

Are there any error messages just before the shutdown? If not, have you
looked in the Event Viewer to see if any entries there may point to the
problem?

There is a few error messages all coming from my anti-virus, which i have set
to scan at 3AM. The first one looks like this:

Scan could not open file C:\Documents and Settings\Jeff Travis\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\UsrClass.dat [00000003]

the rest are all similar untill the last one:

Scan could not open file C:\Documents and
Settings\NetworkService\ntuser.dat.LOG [00000003]

The next event is an Information type event, and it Appplication Starting at
the time when I turned on my computer in the morning. In between the last
Anti-virus warning and the application starting event, there is no other
errors, but this is the time in between which my computer automatically
turned off.
