Unblock a Start Up Program & Delete Non Existing Option In AutoPla

There's an application program called 'fix.exe' that Startup keeps blocking
everytime I switch on my laptop. There are no description or publisher
information and the startup type is 'Registry: Local Machine'. The program is
located in the Windows folder on my C: I can't do anything from Startup
Program caused the options 'Remove / Disable / Enable' are greyed out..
Please advise me what to do..

Secondly, I've upgraded my Nero 7 to 8 and there are 2 options in the
AutoPlay menu that are were uninstalled along with Nero 7. I've tried
uninstalling Nero 8 and when the AutoPlay pop up, all the options of Nero 8
were still there.. How do I delete unwanted options from the AutoPlay menu ?

I'm running on Vista Home Premium.. Appreciate if anyone could teach me how
to solve these..

Thank you

Rightclick Windows Defender on start, and click 'run as administrator' to go
to the Software Explorer in Tools. Local Machine startups are modified
there. Control panel has an AutoPlay app for those entries.

Hi Mark..

Thanks for the tip on the Windows Defender..

But I still can't remove the uninstalled option icons in the autoplay menu..
Aren't they supposed to be removed automatically during uninstallation.. I've
tried uninstalling and reinstalling Nero 8.. and the same thing happens..

Hope you're able to assist..

Nero has put it's entries into the registry at the location of the filetypes
Nero might use, like .IMG or .ISO. The entries will be alphabetical in
Hkey_Classes_Root/.img/OpenWithProgIDs and so on. When you put in a CD, the
autoplay detects the filetype, and offers those options for opening the
files.
