Unbelievably slow, can't work like this...

I'm running 2G Ram on a Dual Core 1.8something or other. My Outlook database
is a synchronized OST file with Exchange 2003 Server and my Business contact
Manager database is a local database on my laptop.

OS: Windows Vista Business 32-Bit
Outlook: 2007
BCM 2007
Exchange 2003 Server

When navigating BCM in Outlook 2007, the response time for something as
simple as opening the financial details of an account takes about 30 seconds
to a minute. If I'm on the phone with a client, I need immediate click
support for these features so I can create a fluid sales flow.

So far, this "great setup" is costing me my business process. What can I do
to ensure that my system will run fast enough for this to make sense? I'm
about to go back to paper and pencil.

The performance in Vista is PAINFULLY slow and I have nothing to compare it
against at this point, so I don't know what the source of the hold-up is.

I have a similar setup and the performance is OK--compared with Office/
BCM 2003, and Xp, on a three year old PC.

Performance was slow at first while Vista's search was indexing
everything in the BCM database, but that settled down after a couple
of days of indexing.

The first access to financial details is always slow because the MOA
system needs to load itself inside Outlook. But all subsequent
accesses to financial data are fast. When you start up Outlook/BCM in
the morning, access some financial data before the first phone call
comes in.

There's an update from Microsoft that improves Outlook 2007's
performance. It requires a complementary BCM update--install that one
first. Links here:
