unable typing due to document locked for edit

dear friends,

we have got a new pc with win xp pro. while we are trying
to type into any win office such as word, excel, there is
no response either fr. keyboard nor the application
itself. keyboard and mouse been checked and they looks
find , no defect nor physical itself. And, in the
application (word, excel) there is command in the bottom
bar stated "unable to type due to locked document for
edit" anyone could assist us solving the problem. Will
really appreciate of your assistance.

Hi, Fenny. Have you activated Office? From Word or Excel, click on Help | Activate Product. If you are already activated, then a dialog box will pop up saying so. If you have not activated, then the Activation Wizard will start, unless you have a trial version of Office. Some computer manufacturers are including trial versions of Office with new computers. Did you have to pay extra to get Office when you bought your computer? If not, then you probably have a trial version, and once the trial version expires, it is useless... you have to buy and install a full version of Office to continue using it.
