Getting message: ".xls is locked for editing by ------"

We have started getting the message: ".xls is locked for editing by ------"
when we try to enter into a shared excel workbook. We have verified that
none of the authorized users already have the document open. It is
imperative that we coirrect this problem ASAP.

We get this all the time. We work on a LAN and I think the file gets
hung up. We ususally have the person who it says is editing the file
reboot. It usually clears the problem file.
