Unable to Uninstall TCP/IP Stock

Rafael

When I open the TCP/IP settings on my XP SP1 machine, the Uninstall button
is grayed out when I select the TCP/IP protocol.

How can I enable this option so I remove and re-install TCP/IP on my pc?

Thanks,

Rafael

1. Go to Start ==> Help and Support.
2. In the Search box type in: TCP/IP , and hit enter.
3. Click on "Install Simple TCP/IP Services".

You will need to use netsh command to reset your stack back to original. TCP/IP cannot be removed as it's part of the core OS. See kb article: Q29935

Simple Tc[/Ip services are the archaic early Unix era
remoting services, rwho, etc.
which IMO should never be installed and should not
even ship with the product.

This individual want to reinitialize the entire Tcp/Ip stack
via an reinstall.
