Unable to sign in on MSN

I have a customer running WinXP Home who suddenly cannot sign in on MSN to
access her e-mail (or Massenger for that matter). She receives an error
message which tells her that her name does not exist, or that her password is
wrong. She has been successfully using MSN for months now and has made no
changes (knowingly) to her system.
All of her .net password details and all other details seem OK.
