MSN Internet Connection Problems

My daughter has a DELL Inspiron 2650 which she just paid
off last month. She spoke with someone from MSN about 2
weeks ago and they were on the phone for over 2 hours and
unable to solve the problem. MSN referred her to DELL, who
has since referred her back to MSN. The computer connects
(icon comes up on the taskbar), but from there she is
unable to go to any sites, and if she does get to a site,
the page will not display. Restore System did not have any
dates to go back to, so that suggestion is out. I'm
thinking maybe she should just reformat the drive and
reinstall. Could you recommend a reliable computer repair
shop in the Clinton, MD area. Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Your daughter's machine probably has spyware on it which is preventing
it from connecting to the Internet. She may also have a virus. There
just isn't any way to tell from your post. I agree with you that the
best thing for you to do at this point is to have a professional look
at the machine. Look in your local Yellow Pages for computer repair
shops, or ask friends for recommendations.
