I am haveing the same problem as others. It happened after switching to
Verizon. I have contacted verizon but they couldn't find the issue. It
seems to be isolated, in my house to windows mail and not effecting outlook
(my wifes computer) here is the error message
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Fw: Events/Activities', Account: 'Bill Toole', Server:
'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0F

Thanks for any help

"Unexpected" termination is almost always caused by interference
from an antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

I am using Windows Live OneCare. I have not intentionally changed any
settings, yet suddenly yesterday I began getting this message when I try to
send and my messages are accumulating in the Outbox.
How do I check to see if email is being scanned for viruses?

Jim, I don't see a copy of your particular error message in this thread.
Please post a complete copy of your error message.

OneCare does not have a user-adjustable setting for email
scanning.
