Error message below. Been running windows mail for about 6 months with no
problems then this started about 2 weeks ago.

With verizon DSL

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Fw: Alaska Group Cruise Information', Account:
'verizon.net', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

That type of error is often caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off.

I have Norton but I have had it the whole time with no problems. I also run
spy sweeper. I have turned off the norton email scanner but still can't get
anything to go out.

Check your Spy Sweeper also for an email scan setting, and turn that off.

Norton antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
Symptoms often don't start until months later.
The only way you can prove or disprove that Norton is the culprit is to
uninstall it, followed by using their debris removal tool:

Another option is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail, which is more
resistant to the adverse effects of aggressive antivirus products:

In any case you must disable any antivirus email scanning, for the reason

Thanks Gary I was able to find how to disable norton email and it worked.
