unable to send email

Ok I have been trying aimlessly to set up and in box for my gmail
account to laptop, and I have been able to get as far as testing and
receiving mail but when the test runs for sending test package I get an
error "Send test email message Unable to send test message Please
verify the e-mail Address"

And it is starting to upset me b/c I know all the configurations are
correct. I am able to send and receive from outlook express, and
Thunderbird. I just don't understand it, I would even use the others
but syncing with my blackberry only possible with outlook as far as I
know.

I am running up-to-date versions of Windows XP and outlook 2003; I am
also using an Adelphia cable connection. I have also tried using an
Adelphia SMTP address as my outgoing server (because I know that due to
ups in spam laws the government wants to know who is sending what from
where.).

I just know CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

If you'd state what values you've already tried for your account
configuration, someone may be able to suggest a way to fix it.

Gmail requires a secure connection and authentication. You also need to
activate the POP service.
