Unable to open photos w/ Picture and Fax Viewer

Hi there, I am running WINXP and suddenly have lost the ability to open
photos with the picture and fax viewer. I can run MSOffice Picture Manager,
but programs that use the Windows program are off-limits (for instance, if I
recieve a picture as attachment). It seems to me that if I set the XP disc in
again, I could repair the problem, but that doesn't seem to work either. Can
anyone help me?

Right click on one of your picture and click on Open with on the opening
menu. A list will open, click on Choose program at the bottom of the list. A
new list will open, select Windows Picture and Fax Viewer and click the box
"Always...."

That's the problem, it won't open. When i choose view>thumbnail I get no
image. I get nothing from the windows program. I am no beginner with this,
and have been playing with my Fuji digital for nearly two years. All of a
sudden, it up and quits. I need to know if there is a way to re-install the
picture and fax viewer without a clean or partial install of the XP

Try this, maybe it will restore the option:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

A dialog box should report the following:

"DllRegisterServer in SHIMGVW.DLL succeeded"
