try loading into safemode. you should be able to choose
adminstrator without a password. then you could go to user
accounts in control panel and change the accounts

This will only work if no password was assigned in the first place,
and the OP indicates the he can't get into the Admin account because
he doesn't remember the password.

Do a google search for recovering lost XP admin passwords; you'll find
help out there if you dig for it.

Use the offline ntpasswd cracking program. It works very well. Get it
here: http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ Be sure to read the
howto that comes with it. If you find this too hard (you do say you
aren't computer savvy), you would probably be best off taking the
machine to a good local computer shop and having them get in for you.
