unable to log on because of an account restriction

When I turn on my computer I get a error message "unable to log on because of
an account restriction" how do I get rid of this?

I would like it if I could bypass signing in on startup and go right to the
desktop.

Thanks

It sounds as if you're running XP Home Edition and have it set
up to automatically log on the built-in Administrator account.
In XP Home Edition, the Administrator account is only available
when you boot the computer into Safe Mode. If you try to log on
with the Administrator account in Normal Mode, you get the
"account restriction" error message.

To fix your problem, do the following;

Logon with your account.
Go to Start -> Run.
Copy and paste the following into the Open box:

control userpasswords2

Click OK.
On the Users page, put a check mark in the box next to "Users
must enter a user name and password to use this computer".
In the "Users for this computer" box, click on the account you
want to have logged on automatically.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer".
Click OK.
In the box that pops up, make sure the account you clicked on
earlier is entered next to User Name. Don't leave it set to
Administrator.
Enter your password twice.
Note: You can leave the password box blank if your account does
not have a password.
Click OK twice.
Reboot to see if you get the desired results.

If you prefer, you can download a Microsoft program called
TweakUI and configure it accordingly. Take a look here for more
info on that procedure:
