Unable to Load Windows After Using Sony Vaio System Recovery Wizar

I recently decided to use the Vaio System Recovery Wizard to set my C drive
back to factory-installed settings. I first tried making a Recovery Media Kit
(which "enables you to recover your computer at a later date, in the event
the computer's operating system fails") but could not get it to work (it
would switch back to the start screen instants after begining), so I decided
to go ahead with the system recovery without it. The program told me that the
computer needed to restart, but when it attempted to load Windows after
restarting, I was given an error message that read, "txtsetup.sif is corrupt
or missing, status 14." On the Vaio website, it says that this is most likely
a result of losing power during the system recovery, but this did not happen.
Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

You should probably also know that I recently added a second harddrive, and
copied many of my files (but not windows) to it prior to attempting the
system recovery. I doubt this has anything to do with my problem but I might
be wrong. It's also important because I don't want to do anything that would
risk losing the files on that drive. (the system recrovery was supposed to
have restored only drive C) Would it be safe to remove the drive until I get
this problem sorted out? Would I be able to access my files again if I did
so? The files on that drive are extremely important to me, and unfortuently
they are the only copies of them I have.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Using the System recovery to go back to factory-installed settings means
everything installed or updated since it came from the factory is wiped out.
You would run the risk of losing everything. Better check with Sony as to
what you rerally want to do.
