Does anyone know how I can get a copy of the Sony Vaio Recovery Wizard
without having to pay alot for it? I have a desk top Sony Vaio PCV-RS420. I
tried using the recovery wizard on it, but when the computer tried to start
it said that a file in the i386 was corrupt or missing. When I tried
installing the recovery disks that I made, it kept giving me the same error.

Hello,

Try *booting* from the recovery CD. Insert the CD and restart your system.

You may need to configure your BIOS to look into your CD first and then look
into the hard drive.

Look for something like Boot Order and set it such that it looks in the
CD-ROM first and then the hard drive. Then save and restart your PC and see
if your PC is able to boot from your recovery disc.

That's my problem. I don't have a recovery cd. My system didn't come with
it because the Vaio Recovery Wizard was suppose to let you make a cd and I
did, but it didn't work. I followed all of the instructions, but it still
didn't work. Any other suggestions?

Contact Sony.
(ie: what you should have done when the process was followed and didn't
work.)
