I am unable to install XP home to my computer. Have tried the usual
steps- removed all peripherals except vid card, removed one then the
other mem chip, tried upgrade and install to new directory without any
change. System is p4-1.6 gig in A-bit BL7Raid MB with a 256meg and 512
meg mem chip, 4 Maxtor drives- 20Gig, 2 x 60Gig and a 120 Gig, with a
ATI All-in-Wonder vid card. Have tried with ATI drivers and with
system set as VGA with standard driver. Upgrade advisor only shows
that I need new drivers for vid card(I have them) and some uninstalled
hardware - old modem and removed printer. The install hangs at the end
of registering components and never advances, even after 24 hours.
Have logged boot and does not show errors. Any help would be
appreciated

Michael,

Since you did mention that your motherboard has RAID, but
you didn't mention specifically loading a RAID driver,
did you miss that step?

Tom

No, tried with the recommended driver and the driver on the XP disk,
Also, updated BIOS even though the A-Bit site said that the BIOS I was
using was compatible with XP. Beginning to believe that I will have
to by new MB if I can't get by this step.
