unable to fully defrag harddrive

It always says some files could not be moved. On assessing the hard drive it
looks a mess but it won't clean up properly. I don't want to format it just
yet.

Any ideas??

If you're using Xp's built-in defrag utility, you may get results like that,
as it is very basic. If you're using a 3rd party utility, then you may have
to upgrade, refer to (possibly) something in the defragging properties that
will allow for a more intensive defragging, or contact the manufacturer.

I use PerfectDisk 6.0, and it it is well worth the money.
