Unable to format or recognize SD memory card

I have a Pansonic digital camera that has a 512MB SD card. I took pictures
with it and I can see them on the camera. When I try to install the driver
off the CD-ROM, it says that it doesn' need the driver. It currently has
some MS driver installed, is says that it is funcioning properly and I can
see it in Device Manager. I also see the removable device in MS Explorer.
But, when I click on it, a window comes up thatt says "I:\ is not accessible.
Incorrect function". The card was formatted in the camera. I tried to
reformat it on the computer (FAT32 only option) and it started the formatting
buy said that it was unable to complete the formatting. I'm not sure what to
do now. I have SP2 installed. Thanks in advance for the help. Michel

Maybe try opening system properties, device mgr, locate the device, expand the
tree,R.click on it,properties,driver,update the driver,then secify,let me
locate,
then browse to the cd,or floppy,install.And/or let it update
automatically,see if
it does,if not try later.Chk the mfg web site for updated drivers also.

Andrew,

I tried that, but when when I specify the driver folder on the cdrom, it
doesn't see a driver in that folder...i.e., no drivers are listed in the
files box.The folder has two cab files, ini, .hdr, .bin, .ex_, and .inx
files. Of course, there's the setup.exe file, but when I run it, WinxP says
that drivers are not needed. Thanks.

I've noticed that my flash drive does the same thing.....Is Not Accessible,
Incorrect function". I deleted SP2 and it stll does the same thing. I did
manage to view my SD card and was able to see the one picture it in. But now
it goes back to the Not Accessible message. Any ideas? Thanks, Michel
