Hello, I am unable to download updates from the MS update site. I get as far
as the Licence screen, which I agree to, then the download box appears, but
nothing
happens. I have tried the information listed in the MKB Articles- 826716,
193385 & 194174 & none of this information has helped.

I was hoping not to have to resort to running a repair with the xp disc

I have also tried;
regsvr32 msscript.dll, dispex.dll, vbscript.dll, scrrun.dll
the .JS extension is also properly set up
Go to Start/Run/CMD and type in:
del /q "%SystemRoot%\System32\Catroot2\Edb.log. Then try again

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 wintrust.dll. If that doesn't help: Go
to Start/Run and type in CMD. At the command prompt, type the following
commands, pressing ENTER after each line:

net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc

Do a search for "oem*.inf" sort the found files in order of size and delete
all the 0kb files just keep the files that are above 1 kb in size.

The automatic updates d/l & install just fine

Any and all suggestions will be greatly Appreciated

Hello Kelly, thank you for your suggestion, howerver, this has not helped
either.

Any other suggestions????

Thanks again for your time & suggestions

Wanted to thank everyone for there suggestions, if nothing else, at least I
learned a few things.
As for the update problem, nothing seemed to work, so I went ahead and did
a repair on XP Pro. Updates are working again.

Thanks Again

Glad to hear you have it resolved, Charles. Thanks for the feedback.
