Anyone know how to get cryptographic service to run? For some reason after
I reinstalled XP and try to download XP updates I get the message "Setup
could not verify the integrity of the file Update.inf. Make sure the
Cryptographic service is running on this computer". I checked under admin
tools services and find that it is running. I tried MS's fix (below) listed
on their support site but no luck. any ideas short of reinstalling? rick
1.. At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER
after each line:
net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc
2.. Type exit to close the command prompt, and then install Windows XP SP1
again.
