Unable to Download files from IE

IE is giving me a problem in that everytime I try to download a file, it
never get saved to my hard drive. This seems to happen with any type of file
from e-mail attachments to Active X controls and IE extensions (such as Flash
updates). I have looked through the options but don't see anything turned
off that would prevent this. I am able to download and save to the hard
drive just fine in FireFox, but I need to use IE for some websites.

Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Thanks,

Jerry

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried the ones that related to my problem, but
I still get the same thing, The download screen comes up and everything
looks like it worked, but no file in the directory I saved it too. I also
don't get the option screen to open the file when the download is complete.

Any other ideas would be appreciated,

Jerry
