Unable to download e-mail

I have windows Vista and installed an update today. Since that time I am
unable to download new e-mails. The error message is: Server unexpectedly
terminated connection. The possible causes are server problems, network
problems or a long period of inactivity. Error # 0X800CCCOE.

Any ideas how to fix this? Do you think it is the service package?

Please select the error message>rt click>copy>paste the unedited error
message into your reply to this thread.
 
In addition to providing us with the complete error message, let us
know which antivirus you are running.
 
Thanks Steve and Gary! Sorry for not providing enough information. I've
been playing around with the e-mail this whole time and finally managed to
get it to download. :-) Nice to know there is willing help available!
