Unable to create roaming profile folders

Brian Osley

I've been running into a problem lately when setting up
new users where I will set up a roaming terminal services
profile and when I type in the path for the User Profile
(on the Terminal Services Profile tab) it does not create
the folder. I try testing the account and I get the
error message "Windows cannot create username.pds. You
will be logged in with a temporary profile." When I try
to go back in and retype the path for the User Profile on
the Terminal Services Profile tab, I get the following
message. "The home folder could not be created because:
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is
incorrect." Any ideas?

Which box are you typing the profile path into. It sounds like you're
typing the path into the "Home Drive" path. Also, what is the exact path to
the profile for your user.
