Unable to change resolution of ddesktop

I have had to reinstall Windows XP Home and I can not now
change the screen resolution. It only is on 640x480 high
color 16 bit. This make most of my programs too large
for my screen (17" Dell). What can be done to correct or
upgrade this problem?

Hi,

You haven't reinstalled your display driver yet, you are using the default
VGA mode.
