Resolution resets to 640x480 on reboot

Hello,

This started yesterday
I have a Dell Dimn 2400 nothing special. Intel Graphics.
I set my screen resolution to 1024x768 works fine.
I reboot, it starts out at 1024x768 then flashes and it's
back to 640x480. I change it again, it stays unitl a reboot.
I'm lost on what to do to keep it at 1024x768.

1. Update the video drivers from Dell's website for your specific model
machine.

2. If that doesn't help, then probably the video card/chip is failing. Test
by uninstalling the current card and swapping in a known-working one. If
all is well, replace the failing video card. If the video is onboard, then
you may be able to install an AGP video card - or contact Dell tech support
if the machine is under warranty.

The problem is solved. It seemed to be related to either a
registration reminder program starting up, or the Zlob virus.
I finally broke Zlob enough that AVG could remove it.
Thanks for you time. All is well.
