Hello

I am having real trouble adding or removing Windows Compnenets.

When I use this wizard and select the components I want to add or remove (it
doesn't seem to matter which ones), and I then click the Next button, XP
starts the process of installing or removing the components (as expected).

However, a dialog box appeas stating that 'Setup cannot copy the file xxxx'
(where xxxx is the file name), and is looking in C:\i386 folder.

I have checked this folder and the file it says it cannot find is in this
folder. I have also browsed to my Windows XP cd, but the same error occurs.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Otherwise will I have to reformat the
hard disk and start again (maybe with Linux?).

Insert your Windows XP CD in the CD Drive and use
the setup menu to install Windows components.

Hello Carey

Thanks for responding.

I have tried what you have suggested and I still get the same error. Any
other suggestions anyone?

Thanks
