Unable to access secure web sites with DSL

I recently got DSL and am having a problem with connecting to secure
web sites. I am unable to access sites like, yahoo mail, ebay,
banking sites, etc... I am able to do all of this just fine on the
same computer with dial up. I have contacted the ISP (no help) the
DSL provider (no help), scaned for viruses with norton and online
scanner (no viruses), installed IE servicepak 6 and XP servicepak (no
difference), tried to use a different browser (same problem), and
generally spent several days frustrated... Anyone with any other
ideas???

Thanks

Are you running a firewall or wireless? We had this problem initially because some firewalls are unfriendly to other firewalls and block access. I still have a highly encrypted site I cannot get to. We had to adjust the firewall settings and our security settings in explorer. We also installed Mozilla and had no problems, so it was definitely an explorer issue.

I initially thought that it was my firewall too. I disconnected from
the firewall and hooked the laptop up directly to the dsl without the
firewall. That didn't make any difference. I have downloaded
Mozilla, and Netscape and had the same problems. I have tried to
change all of the internet explorer security settings without help. I
have been able to gain access to my bank site by adding it to my
trusted sites. This however has not worked with any other site... I
have tried every fix that I can find on the internet without
success... Any suggestions would be appreciated.
