Wait, and when it asks you what to do, press R for repair, at first possible
chance..

Still no luck!!

I wait in the "Windows Setup" blue screen. After all files are loaded
another blue screen for "Windows XP Pro Setup" is displayed. It lists
all my existing partitions (My HD only has one i.e. C:\) I have options
for creating new partition, Dleleting partitions and Install in the
existing highlighted) one. I press "Enter" for the last option. Another
blue screen is displayed saying "Caution: A\windows folder already
exists..." and gives me 3 options again: L install Win XP in the
existing folder; Esc make a new folder for Win; F3 for quit. I press L
then setup deletes all files in my c:\windows and re-copys the
neceessary files. When the yellow progressive bar reaches 100% setup
restarts my PC and contiues the installation. I never have an option for
starting teh Recovery Console, furthermore I presses R frequently but
nothing happens.

Any other comments please, thank you!!

The R we are looking for is on the FIRST screen you can do anything in. If
you are at the partitioning screen, you are somewhere about 4 or 5 screens
to far.......

When it starts, I get a prompt "Press any key to boot from the CD..".
After pressing a key, I get a a black screen with a line "Setup is
checking your configuration of hardware"(something like that). Then I
get a blue screen with "Windows Setup" at the top and a white line at
the bottom showing alternatively something like "F6 for 3rd party
drivers" "F2 for ASR" then showing "setup is loading files.." I don't
get the so-called "Welcome to Setup" screen as memtioned in MSKB#314058
on which I have an option to start "Recovery Console" by presing R or
F10.
I found something wierd this morning. At the "Windows Setup" blue screen
when the "Loading files" process is nearly finished I tapped R
continuously and madly I suddenly reached the first page of the
"Recovery Console" that is the page for you to enter the number
corresponding to your windows installation. Any comment?

Thank you!!

Now you're in the MMC.

Press the number corresponding to the Windows install you want to repair/fix
or something
(usually no.1 and enter, then it ask for "Administrator" password, which is
the one given during install)

Thank you, i know that.

I still wonder WHY the "Welcome to Setup" screen (shown here
http://www.wown.com/img/gif_wxp/rcons00.gif) NEVER displayed
when I boot my PC from the installation CD-ROM.

Any help so that I could get it? thank you!!
