how to reinstall?

and, windows mail does not work anymore (not responding) either

how to reinstall that too

Hi,

You don't reinstall them unless they've been uninstalled (and you don't
uninstall Windows Mail at all). Something is apparently blocking them from
running, and I would start with malware scans in safe mode. Make sure both
your antivirus and any antispyware applications are up to date before
running the scans.

Also remember to disable System Restore temporarily before restarting in
Safe Mode.

thank you both. I think a registry cleaner screwed up Side Bar (now fixed).

ass for Windows Mail, it is still screwed and sfc /scannow has not helped

Does the registry cleaner have an undo function? If not, have you tried
running a System Restore?

It surfaced

Vista Ultimate is quite unlike WinXP Pro

Unless the Service Pack helps a ton if irritants & blemishes

Maybe WinXP Pro for me again...
