Ucora Find and Replace - HELP!

I have come to view Ucora's Search and Replace is vital to developing in
Access. I got it free a year or two ago. But it no longer seems to be
available.

1 - Is it still available somewhere? Perhaps someone could send it to me?
The "splash" screen says that it is "free to distribute."

2 - Might anyone know how I can fix the problem that has started occurring
with it? It will write out some lines to the log file, but then it starts
presenting an error message
"Ucora Find and Replace Utility 1.4 5 Invalid procedure call or
argument."

Unfortunately, it's been a while since I've worked with Access very much, so
I'm not sure of everything that might have happened to my system (or even
inside Access, for that matter). Here is some info that might be
relevant.

1 - I've always found the "references" list a mystery. It's just luck that
I get the right things in it. Right now these are available in this order
Visual basic for applications
microsoft access 9.0 object library
OLE automation
Microsoft DAO 3.5 Object Library
Microsoft ADO Ext. 2.7 for DDL and Security

2 - Also, I've installed Counterspy and have disabled some activeX "things"
and startup programs. But I've examined it this a lot, and don't spot
anything that seems relevant. (I only 'blocked,' didn't 'remove or delete'
so I can see what I did.

When I go there and choose "Ucora" under the "Download for" list, it just
takes me to www.ucora.com, and that's where I started my search. I can'd
find any place to download it. If I put "find and replace" in their search
box, it does a Google search, and one of the hits is www3.bc.sympatico.....
Sort of a circle I've got here.

I agree with Ed that Find & Replace is a great product.

However, if you want to keep with the Ucora product, the button labelled
Access XP (directly below the button labelled Download For) downloads the
add-in, and the button labelled Contact will let you send them an e-mail.

Thanks. Your info was good, unfortunately, I'm running Access 2000, and it
doesn't recognize the database format.

I have a vague memory of the old Find & REplace requiring a particular Java
engine. Does this ring any bells? Any idea where I might find it?

I will try the other utility. I hope it runs on 2000.

Thanks again.

I did install the Find & Replace from RickWorld, but I'm finding it very,
very, very slow! Or maybe it's not slow. Maybe it's just that it gets
stuck in the first object where it finds a hit. Anyway. It found a hit in
one table, and never seemed to move on, so I removed "tables" from the list
of objects to search. Next it found a hit in a query and it's been sitting
there showing no movement in the progress bar for several minutes.

Any explanation for this behavior?

Or does anyone have an old copy of Ucora's Find & Replace that runs on
Windows 2000????

Not free, but well worth the price, is Speed Ferret from Black Moshannon
software, http://www.moshannon.com. It is commercial software... when "find
and replace" are discussed, two products that almost always are mentioned
are Speed Ferret and Rick Fisher's "Find and Replace". I never had speed
issues with Speed Ferret, but the version of Access may have a bearing on
the speed. I've used both and my personal preference is for Speed Ferret.

It looks like it's not really a speed issue after all. It's hanging after
the first "hit." I'm in e-mail conversation with Rick Fisher now.
Obviously it's my environment, not the product.

Well, it turned out not to be a processing bug. See "Clearing up an issue
re RickWorld's Find and Replace" for more details.
