I just bought a new pc with windows xp/mce and every time I boot up or
reboot there is a 2 minute delay before the Networking icon in the
system tray appears and before Managed Power is activated [my APC
Uninteruptable Power Supply puts up an error message saying there is
no Managed Power for those 2 minutes]. During those 2 minutes there is
no hard drive or cpu activity then both the error message from the UPS
goes away and the Networking icon appears at the same time. Is there
something that could be on a 2 minute delay somewhere? Also, there are
31 updates in Windows Update that dowwnload and appear to install but
at the end there is a message saying that all updates failed; could
there be any connection with the 2 minute delay problem? Is there any
chance buying this computer was a big mistake? Thanks
