With a viao notebook I can not get the screen to display
on a tv monitor, I only have one display adapter loaded
is that the problem?

You should read your manual. A generic way is:

Connect notebook to PC with the cable provided, turn TV on.

Reboot notebook, Windows will now 'see' there is a tv attached.

Right click on the desktop and select Properties. In the Advanced tab,
click on Settings. Look for the Monitor tab. There should be an option
here to 'switch' output from notebook screen to monitor. Remember that
audio will still emanate from notebook speakers.
