Hi
I have recently loaded a logitech web cam and it looks like the thing has
disabled the tv card (WinTV).
Running Pentium 4 & decent Gforce graphics card.
I now get the following messages when I try the TV:
----------------------------------------
error: can not locate Capture filter (Hauppage WinTV Capture)
OK
-----------------------------------------
can not Build Filtergraph
OK
----------------------------------------
WinTV Initialization Error!
OK
----------------------------------------
I'm stumped. Have tried all the usual stuff - even taking the tv card out
and rebooting.

Any thoughts much appreciated.
Thanks

If you've just rebooted and try the WinTV card do you get these error
messages?

Or do they follow trying to use the WinTV card AFTER you've had the web-cam
working?

Could be a web-cam driver/application problem if so.

Martin.

It follows after the web cam was loaded - so I uninstalled the thing - and
same problem. It does seem to me that the web cam has taken control of the
drivers!
Thanks

If you put on a pair of shoes and one of them hurts you foot - take it off.

Give up your computer as you don't possess the common sense necessary to
operate one.

I'd visit the manufacturers' websites looking for updated drivers for both
devices.
Have you got the latest necessary motherboard drivers including USB - if
your pc requires any?
If no updated drivers are available then look for any customer support FAQs
and reports of similar problems.

Is your WinTV card compatible with the Sourceforge WDM drivers for the
brooktree chipset? (!!)

Point your browser here http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/ and consider
upgrading yourWinTV drivers to the Sourceforge ones.
(I always install the latest Hauppgauge driver for my WinTV PCI card and
then update them to the Sourceforge ones).

If that fails then i'd look at alternative webcam software - the drivers may
be ok but let down by a shoddy program.

Martin.
