Turns on when phone rings!

B

New computer.

I've been trying to find out what to do so it won't turn
on when the phone rings, other than unplugging.

I have disabled the fax, I even removed the Wind. fax
program.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Caused by the computer's BIOS configured to "turn on" when it detects an
incoming call. Read the instructions manual for your computer. When it
boots up, press the relevant keys to boot into BIOS setup and change
this setting.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Hi,

"Wake on ring" is enabled in the system BIOS. You will need to disable it
there, check your owners manual for proper instructions on accessing your
system's BIOS when the system first loads (you have to do it before Windows
begins to load).

Disable the wake on modem feature in the BIOS, as well as any othe wake
on settings.
