Turning Tracking Off

I have a document that has been reviewed with tracking turned on to record
changes. Now, I cannot permanantly turn off tracking. I turn off tracking,
save the document, and close it. When I open it back up, tracking is turned
on again. Any suggestions?

You must accept all the changes after turning tracking off.

Thank you for your response. I actually tried that. Using the Reviewing
toolbar, I accepted all changes, turned off tracking tracking, and saved the
document. When I reopen the document, tracking is still on.

Is tracking really on or are you just seeing the Reviewing toolbar?

Yes, tracking is on. TRK is highlighted in the status bar at the bottom of
the screen, and the Reviewing Bar shows that Tracking is selected.
