I installed Vista a couple of days ago, and it works fine with one exception...
I'm not able to turn the pc off... I press the shutdown key, the screen goes
black but the pc don't shut down.

Anybody know anything about this??
Suggestions??

Lars: That's an easy one.
Right click on the desktop and select
Personalize/ScreenSaver/ChangePowerSettings
On the blue column (left), click on "Choose what the power buttons do"
From this window you can set up your power button options.

Vista has the option to go to "sleep" when you use the power button - check
"Shutdown" via Help and Support.

Thanks for the tips, but they didn't solve my problems. My setting are right,
the problem is when I hit the "shutdown" key in the start menu.
The computer shuts down the screen etc... but it doesn't shut down the power
to the pc...

The default button is the 'Sleep' button. If you click on the small blue
arrow to the right of the Sleep and Lock buttons, it will bring up a submenu
where Shutdown is an option.

By default, the "shutdown" key as you call it, is really a "Sleep" key. What
text is shown when you hover your mouse pointer over said button? If it says
"Saves your session and puts your computer in a low power state..." then
it's set to put your PC to Sleep, not Shutdown.

One way to differentiate between the two buttons is the Sleep button is a
circle with a vertical line running through the top of the circle. The
Shutdown button is a circle with a vertical line completely within the
circle. The color of the two buttons is slightly different too... at least
on my system. The Sleep button is more orange than red while the Shutdown
button is definitely red.

Right click Desktop... Personalize | Screen Saver | Change power settings
(link, not button) | Change Plan settings (for the active plan) | Change
Advanced power settings | Power buttons and lid | Start Menu power button |
Setting (Sleep / hibernate / Shut down)
