When I first turn my computer on, it connects to the internet without me
wanting to. It only does it when I first turn it on in the morning. It
started doing this a couple days ago. I have resently upgraded to windows XP.

Does this system use a dial-up modem for your internet service? If so, you
*may* have something dialing out.
If you think you have "spyware" / crudware:
See The Parasite Fight Quick Fix Protocol at
http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm

Also, download Silent Runners and use it to find out all startup apps
(especially the lurkers):

If this has a DSL or broadband connection, then it should have an automatic
connection.

Thank you for your responce. I thought about what you said and I delted my
cookies and files. And this morning it is working fine, so far. Maybe I had a
bad cookie, we will see.I ran microsoft beta spyware, it showed my computer
is clean.
Thanks again.
