I have googled this several ways and can find no way to turn off
"Quick Find" in XP. I do have the language bar disabled which someone
suggested. Every now & then quick find pops up when I try to type and
I can't enter anything it just keeps popping up and is really
irritating.

I can't find any reference to "Quick Find and XP" in the MS Knowledge Base.
Are you perhaps thinking of Find Fast in Office, Quick Find in Outlook or
perhaps a third party program by that name?

WordPerfect has a Quick Finder. Do you use WP or have it on the system?
If so, look in the Utilities folder of WP's program in All Programs
and select QuickFinder Manager. You can change settings in the
QuickFinder Configuration tab.

It pops up in the taskbar at random times and then everything you type
makes it pop up and your typing doesn't go in your document or web
form it just makes thew quick find pop up again

Sounds like you might have downloaded some search program? Check your
Add/Remove programs for something like that. Check MSCONFIG for a
startup that might be causing it.
