Turn off Read Receipt setting in registry?

Hi!

We would like to force the Read Receipt setting to be off for a number of
users, is there a way to do that through a registry setting or something
similar?

You can use Group Policies for that.

Thx, does that "grey out" option so that it's not enabled at all? Do you
know of another option where it's enabled but not checked?

You can pre-configure it and then the end-user cannot change it anymore;
grayed out.
I don't really get the second question. You're saying you don't want to use
Group Policies?
