Turn off Language Bar and no Firewall ballon

Had to reinstall Windows XP with all patches...

How do you get rid of the language bar (right click on tool bar to next to
start button, tool bars, Language bar). Simply unchecking it and locking
toolbars does nothing, it keeps coming back.

How do you get rid of the balloon from icon tray about Windows Firewall
being turned off and no antivirus is detected? I use an external fire wall
and I don't know why the anti virus (part of the firewall) is not detected.

To show the Language bar
Open Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.
On the Languages tab, under Text services and input languages, click
Details.
Under Preferences, click Language Bar.
Select the Show the Language bar on the desktop check box.

To make it go away, UNselect the check box.

To use a firewall that Windows doesn't find
A firewall helps protect your computer by preventing unauthorized users
from gaining access to it through a network or the Internet. Windows
checks to make sure that you have a firewall installed on your computer
and then displays that status in the Security Center. In addition, if no
working firewall is found, Windows sends you an alert. However, it's
possible to receive these alerts even if your computer is protected by a
firewall. This can happen if you are using a firewall that Windows does
not find or one that does not report its status to Windows.

If you receive security-related alerts about your firewall but you know
that you have a working firewall, you can use the procedure below to
stop receiving these alerts. You should only do this if you are sure
that your computer is protected by a firewall.

To specify that you are using a firewall that Windows does not find:

To open the Security Center, click Start, point to Settings, click
Control Panel, and then double-click Security Center.
In the Security Center, under Firewall, click Recommendations.
In the Recommendations dialog box, select the I have a firewall solution
that I'll monitor myself check box, and then click OK.

To get rid of the Language Bar, right click on the little down arrow to the
right of the language bar stuff (but to the left of the system tray) and
choose settings. There you can choose to set your language bar settings
including getting rid of that darn bar.

To tell WinXP that you have your own firewall, choose the firewall icon from
the control panel and go from there.

1. Language Bar - Start/Control Panel/Regional and Language Options

Bottom left - Language Bar - uncheck Show the Language bar on the desktop.

Ok, apply yourself out.

2. Security Center - Control Panel/Security Center - Double click Change
the way Security Center alerts me. Uncheck accordingly.
