Language Bar question

Just beside to the left of the system tray, (Taskbar is in default
position), is a little blue square with "EN" on it - i.e. the "language
bar."
I can right-click Taskbar | select Toolbars and clear the check box for this
langauge bar and it is switched off but after rebooting it's back again.
I've tried unlocking the toolbar | switching off the language bar | lock
toolbar ...and it still comes back after a reboot.

On the Language "Text Services and Input Languages" there are two items:-
English (United Kingdom) keyboard and
English (United States) keyoboard
....( there never appears to me to be a way of only ever installing one
keyboard during Windows installation, I always end up with an American one
as well ! )
...is it having two keyboards available that's giving me a stubborn little
blue "EN" ?
....any clues gratefully accepted :)

....just right-clicked it and spotted "Close the Language Bar," perhaps
that'll do it.

....typical ...I've fiddled with that, on and off, for weeks trying to make
the thing go away, and just because I put in a post, I stumble on a possible
answer just seconds after posting ....sorry !

That's my standard way of solving anything - post the question,
and then you'll think of the answer! :)

Regarding the language bar - I leave it there because it's how
I get access to all those unique characters in German, Danish,
Swedish, French, etc.: ä, ö, ü, ß, æ, ø, å, é, è, ç, à; plus ° (which
has the tilde key position in German and the underline key position
in French).
