Turn off Automatic Update warning

G

Gordon Price

So I am testing SP2 for future rollout in a 30 person
office. I chose NOT to turn on Automatic Update, because
I can't afford to have an update break a user's machine.
We do testing, and we automate our updates in house.
However, the SP install gives me a little yellow shield
in the Sys Tray, and warns me all the time that I should
turn on Automatic Update. It gives me no ability to turn
off the annoying warning. Now I admit, Automatic Updates
are a good idea for lots of users, whose zombie machines
are a huge problem, but I CANNOT have this annoying
message in my user's face!

Is there a way to turn this off? Ideally by default at
the time of install? This is really nuts.

Thanks,
