TS Manager Console Not Responding

J

J Padgett

Hello All,

I am having a issue with the Terminal Services Manager
console not responding. When I execute tsadmin.exe the
manager appears minimized in the task bar. It does not
respond when I try to maximize it from the taskbar. The
only way I can open it is to open the task manager
console, select the task, right click, and select
maximize. At this point I now can view connections, but
nothing respondswithin the console.

This occurs logged on with full admin rights. No security
polices have been modified.
The operating system is Windows 2000 Server /SP4 an all
critical updates have been installed.I have spent a
significant amount of time looking for a resolution.

Please advise!

Thank you,

JP

Logged in as yourself, go to this registry key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server
\TSADMIN

Delete the "Placement" value and exit Regedit.

Now run the Terminal Services Manager and you should be able to
see and use it.

The problem is that at some point the TSM window position settings
were saved in a high-resolution session; with it running in a low-
resolution session, those values position it off the viewable
screen.

I also found simply right clicking on the shortcut,
selecting properties and change "Run" from "normal"
to "maximized" resolves this issue. I have tested this on
several different servers.
