trying to play old game with ms dos

i bought an old micro machines game from a charity shop and i had to install
it using ms dos, which i have never used before. i think i installed
properly, but now when i click on the game to play, it comes up with "this
system does not support full screen mode. choose close to terminate the
application"
i tried using the windows compatibilty thing but got really confused
any one know what to do?!

MSDOS is a Pre 1995 Operating System, it is no where to be found in Vista,
which has a command line interface, it looks like DOS, but it is not.
Your best bet is an emulator such as dosbox.
