Trying to open 2003 Access database in 200 Access. Getting unrecognized
format. Tried to open thru Tools, Database Utilities, Convert Database, To
current Access Database Version. Select 2003 format database to open, click
on convert - still getting same error.

How would an earlier version of a program have any knowledge of a program
format which came after it? If you open it in Access 2003, then convert it
back to Access 2000, you should be able to fix your problem, unless the
database has features which are unique to the later version.

Thanks Arvin. What is happening is that our company has created a database
in Access 2003 but our customer still uses Access 2000 and is trying to open
the 2003 formated database in 2000.

I did end up converting the database for her but am hoping in the future she
would be able to do this herself with 2000. Any more suggestions?
