Unable to open an Access database object - Access Database Becomes Inaccessible

Suzane Brandy

I am not able to open an Access database object, which is in compile
project or compiled database in Microsoft Access 2002 (XP)?

Getting an error message:

“The database is in an unrecognized format. The database may have bee
created with a later version of Microsoft Access than the one you ar
using. Upgrade your version of Microsoft Access to the current one, the
open this database.”

Can anyone help me for resolving my problem? :-(

Thanks in advance

What are you trying to open it _with_? In what format was it saved (could
be Access 2000, or Access 2002/2003 format).

If you are trying to open it with Access 2002, 2003, or 2007, that message
likely indicates it has become corrupted. Make a copy, save the original in
a secure place, and then run compact and repair on the faulty one (if it is
corrupted, that may or may not correct the problem).
