I received the following message under Windows 2000:

"Windows was unable to save all of the data for the file
\Device\HarddiskVolume1\$Mft. The data has been lost....."

This is an unfortunate way for Windows to label the volume, because this is
not the language used in Computer Manager when viewing volumes. How do I
map "HarddiskVolume1" to "Disk 1", "Disk 2", etc as they appear in Computer
Manager?

I think the title of the article is misleading :)
"How to Distinguish a Physical Disk Device from an Event Message"
