Troubles with Outlook 2002

I have stayed with Outlook 2002 because I liked it much better than Outlook
Express. (Running XP Home edition, Internet Explorer 7)
I am beginning to run into problems of various types and recently when I
sought help or update from MS I got a message that my Outlook is no longer
supported. I am wondering if I am forced to search for a newer product.

Almost every time I open Outlook it tells me that it was not closed properly
and the file must be checked. this takes anywhere from 2 minutes to 8
minutes. It has always been closed properly.
Sometimes I get a message that a file or folder has been corrupted, but when
I try to open it again it is fine.

Any advice?

There may be plug-ins or add-ons that prevent Outlook from closing
completely. Check with Task Manager if Outlook is still there after you
have shut it down.

Thanks Pat. I tried checking the Task Manager with no result but need to try
in more of a work situation.

Could these problems be caused by having too many contacts and saved messages?

Thanks Pat. I tried checking the Task Manager with no result but need to
try
in more of a work situation.

Make sure you use the Processes tab when you look.
